Our story
Rayo's Pizza opened in 2022 as a family-owned and operated pizzeria, bringing a decade of Bay Area restaurant experience to Mission Boulevard. Our family has been serving other parts of the Bay Area for over 10 years — including a successful San Francisco location run by the owner's father — and Rayo's is our proud addition to the Hayward and Union City community. From day one, the kitchen has been run the same way: with high-quality ingredients, fresh preparation, and a genuine commitment to making every customer feel welcome.
What sets Rayo's apart is the fusion at the heart of our menu. We combine classic Italian-American pizza and pasta with bold American flavors — slow-cooked BBQ brisket, carne asada with fresh lime and cilantro, spicy honey garlic chicken — creating a menu of specialty pies you simply won't find at any other pizza shop in the East Bay. Add smash burgers, panko shrimp, deep-fried Oreos, and a full lineup of daily specials, and you have a local gem that keeps Hayward coming back for more.

Everything at Rayo's is 100% halal. Our pepperoni is made with beef, our Canadian bacon is made with turkey — all halal, Alhamdulillah. This means Muslim diners can enjoy our full menu with complete confidence. We also cater to vegetarians with multiple dedicated veggie pizza options (Veggie Combo, Garden Veggie, Spicy Veggie, Deluxe Veggie Supreme, Mediterranean), fresh salads, and eggplant-based pastas and subs. Must-try dishes
Start with what made us famous: the BBQ Brisket Pizza — slow-cooked brisket, BBQ sauce, onions, garlic, and pepperoncini on a perfectly baked crust. It's rich, smoky, and unlike anything else in Hayward. The Carne Asada Pizza is another must — red sauce, grilled steak, fresh cilantro, onion, lime, radish, and hot sauce, bringing together the best of Mexican street food and Italian pizza in one incredible slice. The Meat Supreme loads up pepperoni, beef sausage, chicken, pulled brisket, and Canadian bacon for the ultimate meat lover experience.
For vegetarians, the Deluxe Veggie Supreme (white garlic sauce, artichokes, mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, spinach, tomato) and the Garden Veggie are both standouts. The Buffalo Chicken Pizza with ranch drizzle is a crowd favorite, and the Mission Blvd Special — named for our home on Mission Boulevard — features pepperoni, Canadian bacon, olives, feta, fresh garlic, and artichoke.
